Rousselot, Darling Ingredients’ health brand, received a U.S. patent for Nextida GC, a collagen peptide ingredient designed to support healthy post-meal blood sugar levels. The patent protects the production process and the use of Nextida GC as a dietary supplement ingredient.

“This patent reinforces the scientific foundation behind Nextida GC and highlights Darling Ingredients’ ability to translate its collagen expertise into targeted health solutions,” said Randall C. Stuewe, chairman and CEO. “As demand grows for natural, non-pharmaceutical approaches to health and wellness, we are strengthening our leadership in collagen peptide health ingredients while building a broader pipeline of Nextida solutions.”

The company has also received patents for the ingredient in Australia, Europe, Japan, and China, and is pursuing patents in Brazil, Canada, Colombia, Korea, Mexico, India, and Peru.
